...Helped me find focus

The Mission ConneXion conference has helped me find the focus to help enable my church to become globally missional.  As Mission Chair of our church I feel God’s urging to go the distance, starting with the pastors and moving through the elders to the members.

...Excited about mission opportunities

2006 Missions Conference got me excited about all the opportunities for mission work. In 2007 I applied with Wycliffe Associates and ended up in Durau, Philippines, teaching a mission school for 2 ½ months.

...I am going to be a missionary

I was so impressed by Heather Mercer’s story at Mission ConneXion.  I am a senior in high school, getting ready to go to a Bible college in Boise.  I am going to be a missionary.  I am so tired of safe religion, and I want to be a part of changing and motivating those who are comfortable.

...Why my son is in Lebanon today.

Our eldest son, Dan, attended Mission ConneXion last year and is in Lebanon and Egypt today doing a 6 month YWAM mission.  He graduated from George Fox University last spring. God has touched his heart for Muslim people.  He recently emailed me that Mission ConneXion is why he’s in Lebanon today. Thank you.

...Seek God's will for me in missions.

I was greatly motivated by Bob Sjogren’s message at Mission ConneXion. The two workshops that I went to got me to think about and explore matters that I had not considered before.  With prayer, I will seek God’s will and plan for me in missions. Thank you very much for this transforming experience!

...He now uses me at work.

The last two years God has spoken to me at the Mission ConneXion event regarding serving him on my job. It has really changed how God is able to use me at work, He has used these sessions to begin taking down a wall with how I obey him by restoring joy at work and calling me to serve Him. Still looking for a short term mission possibility. (Prayer requested)

...Opened my eyes to missions.

In 2006 Mission Fest NW opened my eyes to missions and I gathered a ton of info at the booths.  In the fall of 2006 I went on a 10 week Discipleship and Evangelism Training Program in New Zealand.  I then applied with a campus ministry at OSU and I now serve there as a student ministry intern.  In 6 months I will graduate from OSU and I plan to continue work in ministry, take the Prospectors course, and follow Christ in whatever way he leads!

...Helped us make the connection.

Two years ago my friend and I felt God pulling on our hearts to go to southern Sudan.  A year into the project our contacts fell apart.  One of last year’s speakers worked in Uganda and southern Sudan and I knew I had to track her down at all costs…. Now we have a relationship and this summer will join them in southern Sudan.  Missions ConneXion helped us make the connection.

...I need to stand up in faith for Christ.

God really touched my heart when I heard Heather’s story at Mission ConnXion. Why is it that I am scared to show my faith at school here in America, where it’s really safe?  God opened my eyes and showed me that I need to quit being fake about my faith and stand up for Christ.

...Changed my life!

Mission ConneXion has changed my life! I went to a workshop that talked about your calling in life and that you have to find your calling- it doesn’t just come to you!  It touched me and this has been one of the most exhilarating trips I have ever had. Thank you!
